For the 10th anniversary of the Montreal International Black Film Festival, the Fabienne Colas Foundation presents a retrospective of 6 feature and 5 short black independent Canadian films that had an impact on the festival because of their politically incorrect angle. The theme is: Creativity behind a cause: The arts to raise awareness, educate and inspire.
This retrospective is held thanks to the support of the Canada Council for the Arts: in Montreal in collaboration with the Montreal International Black Film Festival, and in Toronto in collaboration with the Toronto Black Film Festival. Each screening is followed by a talk with the director(s) to explain their creative process and the “politically incorrect” or taboo context to their work.
